The Radovna river is responsible for cutting the Vintgar gorge for over 1.5 kilometers, and up to 100 meters deep. Nice wooden galleries just a couple meters above the water make for a perfect view of the gorge.

Gullfoss is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland and it’s part of the Golden Circle tour, located in South Iceland on the Hvítá (White) river, which is fed by Iceland’s second biggest glacier, the Langjökull. The water plummets down 32 meters in two stages into a rugged canyon which walls reach up to 70 meters in height. The average amount of water running down the waterfall is 140 m³/s in the summer and 80 m³/s in the winter. 
This was my favorite waterfall in all the ones we saw. Hengifoss is the third highest waterfall in Iceland, measuring 128 meters. The colorful rock face with red lines surrounding the waterfall shows are different layers from volcanic eruptions when Iceland was formed. The waterfall is near the town of Fljótsdalshreppur. 
The name of this waterfall is Thác Tình Yêu, or Love. Its name originates from a legendary love story that has been told to generations in this land. The story tells that long time ago, this waterfall was the bathing place of fairies from heaven. One day, a fairy was mesmerized by flute sounds of a young boy near the fall, so she spent every night listening to his melodies. Not long time after, her parents came to know the secret, and forbade her from coming back to the fall. The passionate fairy transformed herself to a bird so that she could live with her love forever.
